Farewell to Carmen Williams

It has not been the best of starts to the 2024 year with the passing of one of our own Carmen Esther Williams. It is with great sadness that we farewelled her passing from this life on the 27th of January after a short illness. Carmen was a longtime member of the choir, and we will miss not only her presence but her caring gentle nature, beautiful smile and lovely alto voice. We are mindful that while our loss is felt keenly it is a very difficult time for her husband Steve, her family and close friends as they continue their lives without Carmen in it.

Carmen was born in Malaysia. In her early days before her family moved to Australia, Carmen had been a much-celebrated sprinter. She was an educator and chose the profession of teaching, she was also a beautiful self-taught seamstress, indeed a woman of many talents and facets. She was a wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.

Carmen will be sorely missed.
